Streamline Your Session with Our Studio Guidelines

At Deer Hipster Studios, we believe that organization is key to a successful recording session. To ensure everything flows smoothly and we can focus on what truly matters—the music—please follow these guidelines:

Studio Guidelines

  1. Track Naming: Use concise names that clearly describe the content (e.g., “Lead Vox,” “El. Gtr 1”). This helps our engineers quickly identify each track.
  2. Project Goals: Clearly communicate your project’s goals, musical influences, and desired sound. Providing reference songs and mixes can greatly assist us in achieving your vision.
  3. Export Settings:
    • Avoid using compressors/limiters on the master or summing bus.
    • Leave ample headroom for mastering, beware of unwanted clipping.
    • Export projects at the original sample rate that the project was recorded/ mixed (e.g., 96kHz) and deliver files in 32-bit floating point (or 24-bit if 32 bit is not possible).
  4. Folder Naming: Include sample rate, bit depth, BPM, and key in the project folder name if possible (e.g., “Artist_SongName_96kHz_32bit_87BPM_Gm”).
  5. File Submission: Once we agree on the project, we’ll provide a secure link for file uploads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I order multiple services simultaneously?
A: Absolutely! Send your request to quotes@deerhipsterstudios.com.

Q: What file formats do you accept?
A: We accept AIFF or WAV files from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, 16 to 32-bit. Ensure all files have the same length, sample rate, and bit depth. Turn off normalization and provide both wet and dry versions of tracks if effects are crucial.

Q: How do I pay for services?
A: After receiving a quote, we accept card payments, PayPal, bank transfers, and mobile pay (Portugal).

Q: Can I get more revisions?
A: We include three revisions, but we won’t consider a project complete until you’re satisfied.

Q: Why was my master delivered late?
A: We start work upon receiving payment and files. Delays can occur if files need fixing, so ensure everything is organized.

Q: Do I need to pay for mix feedback?
A: Our engineers will check for mix issues before mastering, so no additional payment is needed for feedback.

Q: What if I don’t like the final mixes or masters?
A: We value your feedback at every stage. If issues arise, let us know so we can address them promptly.

Q: How does your studio look?
A: Our studio offers a beautiful view, natural light, and a plant-filled environment. We use a hybrid approach with a Midas Venice F32 console, Antelope and RME converters, top-notch plugins, and select outboard gear.
